SHOP at the Christmas Store
The Unidos Christmas Store supports local families by offering them an affordable way to choose gifts for their children.
When partners Stock the Store with new, donated toys, Unidos families can shop for the gifts their kids really want, with a steep discount, putting them within reach. Then the revenue from the store goes back into the community to help fund Unidos programming all year round.
We hope that every child in our community can feel the magic and warmth of the holiday season, while reinforcing community dignity.
Who can shop at the Unidos Christmas Store?

Unidos Christmas Store Shoppers are connected to Unidos either by participating in our programs, or by living here in San Juan Capistrano.

Unidos Christmas Store shoppers appreciate a little support this holiday season because they’re either going through a difficult time or, on the Honor System, they identify themselves under these income limits.
Family of 2: Under $63,100 / year
Family of 3: Under $71,050 / year
Family of 4: Under $78,900 / year
Family of 5: Under $85,250 / year
( Very-low-income, as defined by HUD annually).

When shoppers purchase these items that have been donated to Unidos, the revenue to the store is then available for Unidos to support other neighbors throughout the year.
Beginning with just 78 gifts in 2017, we now serve over 200 families per year with a Christmas Store of over 1000 gifts!

Kids Love It
Instead of kids getting a gift from an organization, they get it from their parents as an expression of their love. They don’t get a random toy but a gift they actually want.

Parents Love It
Parents work hard all year to provide for their kids, but Christmas is especially taxing. Instead of feeling humiliated when a wealthy donor lavishes their children with gifts, they hold their head high, knowing that all work – even low-wage work – is dignified. They don’t want a hand-out; but they really appreciate a great discount.

The proceeds from parents’ purchases will support Unidos’ year-round work in the community, and shoppers are proud to be part of it. Some even make additional donations to be a part of the work of strengthening the neighborhood.
