“My home is you”

Unidos South OC is Faith-Fueled. Our trust that God is love and our experience of being loved is a fuel that moves us to love our neighbor.

And it can be hard. Sometimes we get depleted.

That's why we're so grateful for the Christian Community Development Association's annual conference where we are re-fueled for our work. It's a precious gift to gather with other non-profits and churches who are also deeply rooted in their communities to bring about transformation. We enjoyed workshops on leadership, immigration reform, grant-writing, trauma-informed care and many other topics. Worshipful music by Common Hymnal brought our hearts in alignment with our minds.

This year's theme was HOME.

As each main-session speaker explored various aspects of home, we were invited to consider what home means to us and how to create communities that are home.

After the conference, one of our resident leaders brought me to tears when she shared this post saying to Unidos, “My home is you.”
