Roadmap to Success

We believe that change happens when people walk alongside our youth in their journey. This past November, one of our volunteers led the Roadmap to Career class, a program designed to help students explore career paths, set personal goals, and gain the skills needed to take their next steps.

What started as a five-week course grew into 2.5 months of learning, mentorship, and transformation. With guidance from our incredible volunteer, Donna, students committed to showing up, learning from professionals, and crafting their own paths forward. One of them, Orlando, took his final project to heart, preparing for an interview with a representative from Salesforce. With extra support from Donna, who led a mock interview beforehand, Orlando walked into his meeting with confidence. Afterward, he shared, "It went well. I hope I get an internship."

This is what happens when volunteers show up and invest in our youth. Whether leading a class, mentoring a student, or helping behind the scenes, volunteers at Unidos open doors that young people may not have otherwise had access to.

These students now have a roadmap to their futures because someone chose to step in and guide them. Thank you for making it possible for volunteers to create spaces like this; where young people aren’t just learning about careers but are building them, with a community that believes in them every step of the way.
