The trustees Applauded
Tonight our community rallied again for the benefit of their neighbors.
A dozen Unidos community members took the time to visit the Capistrano Unified School District Board of Trustees monthly meeting to make public comments about the community’s need for more school transportation from the downtown area of San Juan Capistrano to San Juan Hills High School.
It’s a problem with many puzzle pieces, and we have been chipping away at it together. The residents utilized translators to stand at the podium in front of more than 100 people and ask for the trustees’ support in ensuring their kids had a ride to school.
After everyone had made their comments, the CUSD Trustees called for an applause in gratitude for the Spanish-speaking parents who attended the school board meeting saying it has only been recently that they’ve seen the Spanish-speaking community participate in these meetings and they’re so grateful.
