Sharing Her Passion

One day, a last-minute cancellation left our youth sewing class without an instructor. In that moment, I thought of my mother, despite her usual shyness. When I called her, she didn’t hesitate and simply asked what time she needed to be there. Sewing has been a lifelong joy for her.

She led the kids through the class but soon realized there were more students than expected. Unfazed, she took the unfinished aprons and bags home, spending the week completing them.
Though my mother rarely visits Unidos and needs encouragement to join our events, this opportunity allowed her to share her passion and connect with our community. It was a reminder of how we often hold back until the opportunity reveals itself.

She now looks forward to the next time she can contribute, patiently waiting for another chance to share her gifts.
