Tears Came to Her Eyes

One Resident Leader, Naty, was talking with a friend who was going through a hard time. Naty said, "Hey, there's this meeting. Come with me, just to get your mind off things."

The woman came to the Affordable Housing Forum that Unidos had planned with Jamboree Housing to explain the eligibility for 9 affordable units being built here in town. She was happily distracted by helping out with small tasks. She had a purpose just for that small time.

Then when she won the raffle for a $25 gift card, tears came to her eyes.

Our resident leaders are making big systemic changes, but they're also just demonstrating love and care for their neighbors in small ways that are deeply profound.
